It consists of the C6 Remote I\/O bus coupler and other I\/O module types. The C6 Remote I\/O bus coupler converts the transmission physics and generates the system voltages for the modules. The EtherCAT protocol is retained right down to the last I\/O module: The modules each work in the system as an independent EtherCAT slave. Like every EtherCAT slave, they can be individually configured as participants. In addition, the data is available in EtherCAT without delay and does not need to be converted by a proprietary bus. At the end of the modular device, the connection between the outward and return lines is automatically closed so that the next EtherCAT device can be connected to the second port of the bus coupler or extender.<\/p>\n<p>With a width of just 25 mm, the pluggable system meets a high packing density.
