Interfaces for industrial data communication
The large displays support the data interfaces for industrial communication: fieldbuses, network topologies, serial or parallel interfaces as well as control with analog signals and pulses (counters).
Internal secondary display
After opening the housing, a secondary display is visible in the device. It shows the same values as the main display. The main display does not have to be visible during commissioning and parameterization – a convenience feature, especially for large-volume devices or exposed installation locations.
In menu mode, a menu appears in the secondary display. Operating modes, parameters and device functions can be defined in the menu. A fixed decimal point can also be defined, as well as whether leading zeros are displayed or hidden or whether a display test is carried out after the device is switched on.
Sensor supply
The devices have a voltage source to supply sensors or signal transmitters (except devices with a Profibus interface). The voltage source can also serve as a high signal for the function inputs.
Function inputs
The devices have PLC-compatible function inputs. They enable device functions such as flashing, dark control and reducing the LED brightness to be activated independently of the signals via the data interface (except for devices with a parallel or Profibus interface).
Readable on one or two sides
The large advertisements are offered with one-sided and two-sided advertisements. The versions with a two-sided display have an LED matrix on the front and back and display the same information on both sides.
Switching outputs
The devices have potential-free switching outputs. A command via the data interface generates a wiping pulse at the switching output. Devices with a serial or Ethernet interface can automatically generate a wipe pulse when receiving a data telegram. The wipe pulse is suitable for controlling optical or acoustic signaling devices to draw attention to a change in information in the display (except devices with a parallel or Profibus interface). Devices with analogue or counting pulse input have switching outputs for the upper and lower limit values.
Ignoring signs
If the characters to be displayed in the data telegram do not begin at the first position, you can set in the menu how many preceding characters are to be ignored. This allows the user data to be selectively evaluated (applies to devices with a serial data interface).
Extended character set
In addition to the numbers, the character set also contains letters and special characters that can be represented with seven segments (applies to devices with a serial or fieldbus interface).
