piccolo™ temperature and process controller
The Eurotherm piccolo™ controller series offers precise temperature control in conjunction with the highest functionality, making it a leader in its device class.
- Large selection of products
- Stockable & individual orders
- Permanently low and transparent prices
Description
With outstanding performance at a low price, the piccolo™ series is the ideal solution for a variety of applications. The series guarantees extremely easy access to parameterization and operation in a high-quality device.
Despite its comprehensive functionality, the series is extremely user-friendly and can be individually adapted to customer requirements. With the built-in self-optimization, adjusting to the process is child’s play.
High quality and high operational reliability
The piccolo controller is a device with high quality and operational reliability from a world-leading manufacturer with global support and service branches worldwide. A three-year warranty is standard.
Ramp hold timer and soft start
A ramp hold timer is available for time-dependent temperature sequences. The timer is used to e.g. B. to gradually change the temperature in a heating zone and maintain it again until the desired final value is reached. This is particularly advantageous when workpieces need to be protected from thermal shock.
Prevention of overshoots
Eurotherm’s unique cutback system ensures precise control at the setpoint and – when optimized correctly – prevents temperature overshoots.
Energy consumption display
The piccolo™ controller has a display of energy consumption and thus offers the basic data for an energy requirement evaluation for continuous optimization of the process and Kaizen techniques.
Heating element error detection
Using the optional current transformer adapter, the piccolo monitors the load current status in electrical heating elements and generates status and alarm information. These are used to detect heating element errors and short circuits and thus enable quick intervention so that remaining heating elements are not damaged.
Modbus digital communication
The piccolo optionally supports 2-wire EIA485 communication using the Modbus RTU protocol.
Digital setpoint transmission
Optionally, the piccolo controller is able to send a setpoint to various slaves via the master Modbus communication in order to enable multi-zone control. This requires the EIA485 option.
Analog transmission
The controller can transmit setpoints or other process variables to downstream components or data recorders via a 4-20 mA analog transmission.
Simple and customer-specific operating interface (HMI)
The operation of the piccolo controller is based on a simple menu structure. The individual entries can be clearly identified in the operating and configuration manual sections to avoid guesswork during commissioning. The operator menus can be fully customized and provided with different passwords for operator and supervisor access to prevent unauthorized access.
Washable front
The protection class IP65 allows the devices to be used in washable or dusty applications. The front is customizable to the customer and therefore ideal for OEMs.
Clearly visible, three-color color LED display
The process and alarm display appears on the brightly lit three-color LED display.
Recovery point
The P100 includes a new feature, RECOVERY POINT. This function allows the operator to create a “snapshot” of the current device settings (operating and configuration parameters).
These values can be restored at any time to undo changes during operation.
An authorized operator can change the values in the recovery point table by saving the configuration via the front panel or via a PC-based configuration tool.
Configuration adapter
The piccolo controller can be connected to a PC with iTools configuration software via a configuration adapter. This adapter allows devices to communicate and configure via iTools without the devices having to be connected.
iTools Wizard
The wizard serves to simplify the piccolo setup. It guides the user through the configuration process with interactive help and graphical representation of the functions.
