Description
The Information Manager provides a process link between the LIN network (via ARCnet and Ethernet) and the operational environment. Enterprise client applications can be distributed across geographic and organizational boundaries while providing access to any process asset via the Operations Server or Information Manager. This structure allows applications to be distributed across the entire network and eliminates the need to duplicate data at each individual node.
Information Manager combines the power and flexibility of a relational database with the speed and compression of a real-time historian package, enabling integration between the office and facility levels.
Technicians, maintenance managers and plant operators can display, analyze and present current real-time, historical and alarm information using the ActiveFactory client applications. Any other standard software with an SQL/ODBC interface can read the values via preinstalled tables.
Database and stored processes are installed automatically and do not require any knowledge of relational databases or SQL. Information Manager includes a powerful, predefined query that allows the user to search and find data. This makes it easier to understand complex relationships and interactions between technical systems, operating states in production, process operations, product quality and production efficiency.
