Description

The EPC3000 series programmable process and temperature controllers feature a control loop and maximize the efficiency and traceability of your process. Furthermore, the devices are certified for cybersecurity communication robustness.

The devices combine industry-leading control and measurement behavior with simple operation and offer a high level of flexibility.

Using a simple “Quick Start” configuration code, the devices can be put into operation quickly and “out of the box” via the front of the device. Function blocks are available for applications that require further data processing, such as: B. Wiring including mathematics, logic and summer function.

A clearly visible three-color display with plain text messages and alarm displays makes operating the devices easy and understandable for the user. The EPC3000 series devices are extremely robust with a battery-free design and a long service life.

Accuracy and traceability

The fast and highly accurate process inputs with exceptional thermal stability provide precise and consistent control over a long period of time, without calibration drift. Recalibration and calibration adjustment functions are available to further improve accuracy.

The industry-leading Eurotherm PID control algorithm delivers fast-response and comprehensible control and has been further developed for the EPC3000 series to further reduce overshoot. Reaching the process temperature quickly and low vibrations increase the process throughput and reduce the reject rate. For optimal performance, different PID settings can be saved for application in different process environments.

EPC3000 FM function

The Factory Mutual approved limit function can be used either “out of the box” as standalone upper or lower limits, or soft wiring and I/O can be added to combine PID control and limit functions in a single panel-mounted device.

Connectivity and cybersecurity

The EPC3000 series Ethernet-enabled devices are the first controllers developed and certified for the strict cybersecurity requirements of Wurldtech Achilles® Communications Robustness Testing Level 1. Ethernet communication is available via standard RJ45 connections and offers quick access to diagnostic information as well as a connection option to external PLCs and SCADA systems. Serial Modbus RTU communication is also supported.

Free Eurotherm iTools software for backup and configuration settings is available on our homepage. For a convenient desktop configuration, the device is connected to the CPI clip and powered via the USB port.
