Safety functions in innovative industrial plants will become increasingly important in the future in order to ensure the highest safety standards for people and machines. This means that new generations of machines are increasingly relying on flexible programming of additional safety functions in order to be able to survive in the future-oriented market.
The C6 Safety PLC as a safety controller and the C6 Safety I/O module take on all safety-relevant tasks at the control level, which can also be integrated into an existing EtherCAT structure. Communication takes place via the existing EtherCAT bus with the certified safety protocol Safety over EtherCAT (FSoE). Any FSoE slaves (e.g. safety I/O modules, KEB drive controller with safety module) can be addressed via the Safety PLC (FSoE master).
The freely programmable Safety PLC and the Safety I/O module meet the requirements of the safety standards according to IEC 61508 SIL 3 and DIN EN ISO 13849-1 Ple. The Safety PLC has a two-channel structure and is programmed using the COMBIVIS studio 6 programming tool, in which certified safety function blocks are integrated. For the user, this means reduced development effort as well as minimized testing and acceptance of the created security application.
