The 3508 and 3504 models offer more than just temperature control. Advanced features and options even allow you to control small machines. They offer flexible I/O options to control a variety of processes such as temperature, carburizer control, humidity, flow, pressure, level, viscosity, additive dosing control and much more. Special function blocks, recipe selection, setpoint programmers, math, logic, timer functions and flexible communication options are just a few examples of what makes these devices an essential part of an overall process solution.

When developing the 3500 Series controllers, great emphasis was placed on user-friendliness. All basic functions required to control your processes can be set using a simple “Quick Start” code. This includes the settings for sensor type, measuring range, control options and alarms, enabling true “out of the box” operation. More advanced functions are configured using a PC graphics configuration tool, allowing users to select function blocks from the library and connect them together using softwiring.

The large 5-digit display provides an extremely clear and unambiguous representation of the process value. In the lower display area, a 4-line message center provides user-specific representations of important information, while vertical and horizontal bar graphs enable process visualization at a glance. OEM security allows users to protect their intellectual property rights by protecting against unauthorized configuration cloning.

Dual channel

Two independent control loops make the 3500 ideal for interactive processes such as those found in carburizing furnaces, climate chambers and autoclaves. The control loops can be linked internally in software to create, for example, cascade, ratio or other intelligent control strategies.

Setpoint programming

Processes such as heating applications often require a change in the setpoint over a specific period of time. The series dual-channel controller features two programmers that can be configured as synchronized or independent programs. There are 50 programs with up to two channels and a total of 500 segments available.

Input/output flexibility

A comprehensive range of pluggable inputs and outputs, which are individually put together for a wide range of applications, minimizes inventory and the need for spare parts. There are a total of 15 different module types for relay, logic, triac and analog, which can be plugged into three slots in the 3508 and six slots in the 3504.

C level

Using a zirconia probe, the 3500 can measure oxygen and temperature in an oven and calculate the resulting carbon content in the oven. This allows the Series 3500 Dual Channel Controller to be used to control both carbon content and temperature in atmospheric furnaces.
