GEA has launched new versions of its Red series heat pumps. All models are available with an ammonia cascade evaporator, making them compatible with any cooling system. The RedAstrum series now has a total of seven models.
The new GEA Red heat pump cascade version allows customers to install the heat pump into any existing cooling system while using a single ammonia cascade heat exchanger that acts as a condenser for the cooling stage and an evaporator for the heat pump stage.
The cooler can condense at lower temperatures, while the heat pump evaporates at higher temperatures. This results in an efficiency of up to 10% and eliminates the need for two separate heat exchangers and the hydraulic circuit.
The GEA RedAstrum series previously included four Grasso M series screw compressor models. Now there are three additional sizes, including two smaller Grasso M models and the larger Grasso LT model.
The swept volume range of the available screw compressors and therefore the performance range of the RedAstrum series has increased by 80% (depending on the operating conditions).
