In 1977, Knecht groups together with MAHLE. 

Since our early days, the development of piston systems and cylinder components has been a core competence at MAHLE. Today, MAHLE is a massive alliance company consisting of MAHLE Gmbh, MWP Mahle – J. Wizemann – Pleuco GmbH group, and Knecht Filter Group. About 90% of MAHLE’s filter products are manufactured in Austria, while 10% is made in Europe, South Africa, and South Korea. 

Our product portfolio demonstrates our unique systems competence, as it addresses all crucial issues related to the powertrain and air conditioning technology—from engine systems, filtration, and electrics/mechatronics through to thermal management. MAHLE manufactures filters, pump systems, and oil coolers for engine and transmission applications—all of which are designed to increase the engine’s efficiency and service life and reduce emissions at a reasonable price.
