The mechanical control unit REG from the measurement technology specialist from Hofheim am Taunus impresses with its simple and effective functionality.
Once installed, it limits the flow to a predetermined value, regardless of pressure fluctuations. Thanks to the high-quality stainless steel design, the REG is completely maintenance-free. Because it requires no auxiliary energy and is safe from manipulation, the REG is particularly suitable for consumption applications and the uniform supply of several consumers.
In contrast to the stainless steel control panel used, products from other manufacturers usually use rubber and metal discs, each with a round recess in the middle. The water pressure compresses the elastic rubber disc, which changes the diameter of the recess and thus regulates the flow.
However, this only works as long as the rubber elasticity is intact. Aging, temperature and chemical influences change the molecular structure of the rubber and cause it to harden until the flow can no longer be regulated or limited. It becomes problematic and, above all, expensive if this peculiarity is underestimated or not pointed out.
In contrast, our REG flow limiters are designed for lifelong and maintenance-free use. The flow rate is kept constant with an accuracy of approx. ±0.2 l/min, regardless of the fluctuating pre-pressure.
The constant flow is achieved via a so-called control orifice consisting of stainless steel spring plates followed by a ring or control funnel. Depending on the differential pressure, the gap between the spring plate and the control funnel varies. Spring plates and control orifices are used in different arrangements to achieve the desired flow rate.
The maximum flow rate per control unit is 40 l/min. Multiple elements in threaded and flange versions are also available. The maximum differential pressure is 10 bar, materials: brass and stainless steel, connection threads: ½ and ¾ female and male, available flow rates (single element): 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 25, 30 and 40 l/min.

Wherever a constant flow rate is required despite pressure fluctuations in the system, e.g. when consumers are switched on and off, the ideal areas of application for the REG flow limiter arise, e.g.:
Water supply
•Even water distribution
Pump protection
•To protect against overheating during zero delivery, water hammer and cavitation.
District heating distribution • Constant heat transfer Industrial applications • Constant cooling of EDM machines and other machine tools. • Cooling and lubrication of CNC tool and cutting machines, as well as various machining centers. |
||
• For cooling and keeping the temperature of aluminum die-casting molds constant Car engine production and packaging machines for the food and pharmaceutical industries. • Cooling circuit for X-ray machines, laser machines, photovoltaic systems, wire welding machines, Coating and vacuum systems, induction hardening machines. |
||
• Water circuits for heating and cooling systems. • Use in printing machines for spray moisture application. The REG limits the consumption of domestic water the printing press in front of the spraying unit. |
||
• To protect against manual incorrect settings of the flow in machines and systems. • In areas with pressure fluctuations, REG provides the necessary water supply for machines and systems safe. • Dust suppression through constant flow via sprinklers |
